Another Casino Is Blocked by the GCGC

The Great Canadian Gaming Corporation has had a difficult year, as seen by the news that the corporation will be shuttering another one of its gaming facilities. The news came as a surprise to the gaming industry. The gaming operator made the announcement on April 27th, 2021, that Casino Nova Scotia Sydney will be closing its doors immediately after the announcement.

The corporation was forced to close another facility in the province not long before this shutdown, which follows shortly after. The company is responsible for the management of 26 casinos across the country and has sites located in the provinces of Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.

Yet Another Termination

As a result of receiving a directive to do so from the provincial government of Nova Scotia, the corporation is obligated to close down its other casino establishment in the province. Because the stay-at-home order puts a halt to the operations of a large number of local enterprises, including gambling conducted in person, the only option left is gambling conducted online. This action was taken by the government in an effort to mitigate the devastating effects of the current public health crisis on a worldwide scale.

According to a representative of the casino corporation who spoke with the media, the entities in Nova Scotia have been conducting their business in a secure setting. The corporation, on the other hand, acknowledges the necessity of these newly imposed constraints. It will keep a close eye on the current circumstances as well as the immunization procedure, and it will patiently wait for the possibility of reopening sometime in the not too distant future.

Casino New Brunswick is the only one of these 26 establishments that is still operational and taking new customers. Since March of 2020, the operations of each and every casino property in the province of British Columbia have been put on hold. Recently, the company came to the conclusion that it would be best to liquidate all of its holdings in Ontario as well.

The firm was forced to close its second casino facility in the province just a few days before the announcement was made on April 27. The length of time that the property will be closed for is uncertain. On April 22, Casino Nova Scotia Halifax was likewise forced to terminate its operations and stop providing its services. Only in January were the two casinos in the province given permission to reopen its doors to customers after being closed for quite some time.

Just One Remains

Out of a total of 26 gambling establishments throughout Canada, the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation only has one that is still in operation at this time. The doors of Casino New Brunswick were successfully reopened to the public on February 12, 2021, and the establishment has never stopped accepting customers since that day.

The casino, just like every other indoor entertainment facility, is subject to stringent guidelines for maintaining a healthy and safe environment for patrons. Every guest is obliged to have a face mask on at all times, and social contact should be avoided at all costs. In order to ensure that social distance is maintained in an appropriate manner, the casino has a rule that states there can be no more than 50 people present at any given moment.
